Main tasks are the:
- Integration of Bremen´s relevant regional GMES competencies to thr GMES initiative. It will have:
- Permanent contact with the GMES Bureau at the European Commission (EC) and German Aerospace Center (DLR), and also
- Contact to users of the Nordic and Baltic countries, as well as to science and industry.
- This will be made by the initiation of GMES pilot projects.
Next steps:
- The GMES Office Bremen aims to establish in Bremen a centre for GMES services related among others to marine / maritime applications, to air quality monitoring and security aspects. In a first step a local GMES network of industrial and scientific resources has been identified. This will be used to develop a common strategy for the goals and system requirements of the future GMES center Bremen.
- First pilot projects have been started or are in definition.
- In a next step Bremen will extend the cooperation on national as well as on european level through specific GMES pilot projects, with the goal to develop a GMES Service Centre in Bremen as a valuable contribution to the future german / european GMES service network and architecture.
